The transition to being powered by electricity has caused major problems for the truck manufacturers. The equations don't add up. Seenphysically, it can be shown with very simple calculations the inconveniences. Diesel contains a lot of energy and you can because talk in round terms calculate with 1 liter of diesel containing 10 kWh. This means that a large truck for long-distance transport and with a tank of 600 liters corresponds to approx. 6,000 kWh.
There is no currently existing batteries of equivalent capacities. Adding add to that that the contents of the diesel tank weigh only about 480 kg. Ifyou calculate with a battery found in Tesla of 100 kWh so it weighs 625 kg. To get up to the same capacity it would, i in this case, 60 batteries are required. Gives a total weight of 37.5 tons.
The vehicle is completely unusable and this withouta single kilo of load and the other dead weight of the vehicle are added to the final weight. It's just realizing that it doesn't workwith trucks in long-distance transport longer.
Don't build out the loaded structure that the trucking industry is asking for "a stupid comment - more cream in the mouth". Thethere is no way to make it work. Instead, see to it to expand the railway so that all long-distance freight traffic comesover on the track as soon as possible.
The truck era is coming to an end and we are now at the end of the road! We are standingahead of building a new efficient infrastructure and which shall applyfor many years to come. Don't build it wrong, it will punish yourself for too long ahead and if it goes wrong, that's itbest way to deindustrialize Sweden.
It isimportant to make comparisons between rail and truck.
Retrieved from Green Cargo's website:
Two climate-smart examples A typical intermodal route is between Malmö Kombiterminal to Norrköping Kombiterminal and the distance is approx. 450 km by truck and 560 km by train.
Example 1:
A truck transport between Malmö and Norrköping emits 730 kg of carbon dioxide. That equates to 1,200 train journeys with an average Green Cargo train carrying roughly 500 tonnes of freight.
Example 2:
A train transport on an electrified railway between Malmö and Norrköping emits carbon dioxide equivalent to the weight of half a packet of milk. If the equivalent amount of goods were to be transported by truck on the same route, the truck transport would emit approximately 20 tons of carbon dioxide.
Comment:
Are there no politicians who understand anything at all! Can no one in the traffic committee calculate or even understand very simple, but clearly obvious results. Are they all bought by the trucking mafia? It doesn't seem better!
Extracted from the decisions:
- that 75% of all freight transport must over to rail transport or sea transport.
- the trucks shall be removed from our ways and will only be accepted as local transport between intermodal terminals and the customer.
- everyone cities/communities with over 100,000 inhabitants must have intermodal terminals for passenger and freight traffic. Must be developed for 31 December 2027.
- in addition, it has been decided that short-haul flights < 500 km will be replaced by high-speed trains.
- electric roads and trucks nothing for the EU
- and much more, here you can download the decision document on 155 pages (English version) LINK
It has also been agreed that if you continue to drive as usual and do not build what the EU has stipulated, the EU can centrally step in and take over infrastructur
planning in each individual country. Its except exists it inscribed that "poluters pay", which makes that fuel prices will see seriously large cost increases
which will be felt by Swedish business.
