Pilot line 1 Stockholm - Umeå - then on to Luleå - Kalix.
There has long been interest from the grocery industry in having its transportation of groceries carried out by train. This is a prerequisite for the industry to be able to expand. Carrying out the transportation by truck is out of the question, as it takes too long and costs a lot of money. Fast freight transport by rail is the solution to the grocery industry's opportunities for expansion in the northern parts of our country.
We presented a proposal based on our CCT technology where we could run a round trip with a CCT train between Stockholm and Umeå and return with a reversing train within 24 hours. You can find more information about the project on the CCT Pilot Project Stockholm - Umeå page.
Now there has been a very important detail when it comes to rail transport. We are now members of NATO and then the requirements from there will be guiding and it can affect the terminal location and location. Likewise the requirement for the design of the terminals. The terminals only handle containers and flats and swap bodies. Trailers are not handled within the system.
1. A requirement from CCT is that the terminals are of a flow-through design and must not be "bag terminals".
2. The length of the track must not be less than 1100 meters to meet future requirements (track length at the terminal).
3. The terminal must be adapted to "Myran's" automatic handling of unit loads.
4. Temporary storage areas must be available at the terminal.
5. Electrically or hydrogen-powered distribution trucks must be connected to the terminal.
6. Electronic connection to other terminals in the system.
Regarding terminal points, the following are proposed:
1. Stockholm
2. Uppsala - Arlanda, added due to the location of the airport in Uppsala and Arlanda
3. Gävle
4. Söderhamn, added around the former F15, one of Europe's longest military runways
5. Sundsvall
6. Örnsköldsvik
7. Skellefteå
8. Luleå
9. Kalix
A detailed map will be available later, as well as a project description of the CCT terminal system. The terminals will be adapted to NATO's terminal requirements.
